LearnJoin Tutor Standards
The professional, conduct, and lesson-quality standards LearnJoin expects from teachers offering lessons on the platform.
Last Updated: July 2, 2026
Overview
This policy explains the professional standards LearnJoin expects from teachers, including conduct, communication, reliability, and student safety.
Contents
1. Professional Behavior
Teachers must behave respectfully, communicate clearly, and create a safe and suitable learning environment. Harmful, humiliating, aggressive, deceptive, or exploitative conduct is not allowed.
2. Lesson Reliability and Delivery
Teachers are expected to attend scheduled lessons prepared, use lesson time responsibly, and maintain reasonable reliability.
Repeated lateness, unexplained absence, or misuse of classroom access may trigger review under LearnJoin policy.
3. Honest Representation and Student Boundaries
- Availability, pricing, and lesson expectations must be represented honestly.
- Teachers must not pressure students, misuse messaging tools, or redirect activity off-platform to avoid LearnJoin rules.
- Where minors are involved, teachers must maintain appropriate professional boundaries at all times.
4. Reviews, Complaints, and Quality Monitoring
LearnJoin may review attendance patterns, complaints, review behavior, cancellations, and quality-related signals in order to protect student experience and maintain platform standards.
Fair, not identical. LearnJoin treats teachers and students fairly, but not identically: each role has different rules, safeguards, and quality expectations appropriate to its responsibilities. LearnJoin defines what “fair” means for lessons, confirmations, and ratings, and its reasonable good-faith determinations control for platform purposes.
Audio/video ratings threshold. A single low or “off” audio/video rating — yours or a student's — is not acted on and never triggers a penalty or review on its own. LearnJoin only treats audio/video quality as a concern when poor ratings persist across a span of more than one week and cover a minimum of five lessons in that week, each on a different date. One-off technical hiccups do not count against you.
5. Enforcement
LearnJoin may apply progressive or immediate enforcement depending on severity. Serious safety, fraud, or integrity breaches may skip informal warning steps and lead directly to stronger action.
